Marmaray Project's last tube tunnel to be sunken two weeks later
Turkish Transportation Ministry is planning to sink the last tube tunnel of Marmaray Project two weeks later.

Officials with the ministry told on Friday that tunnel No.1, which would be sunken under the water, would be the 11th and the last tube tunnel of Marmaray Project.
The date and time of sinking process will be set later according to meteorologic data and currents of Strait.
The tunnel --which will be sunken-- is 135 meters long and it is 15,000 tons.
The project was planned to be completed in 2009 but archeological excavations delayed the deadline of the project for two years. The project will be finished in October, 2011.
The Marmaray Rail Tube Tunnel and Commuter Rail Mass Transit System is one of the major transportation infrastructure projects in the world at present. The entire upgraded and new railway system will be approximately 76 km long.
