Iran has been granted two awards at the 2009 edition of the Batumi International Art-House Film Festival held in Georgia

Actor Parviz Parastouei received the best actor award of the Feature Films Section for his performance in Abdolreza Kahani's Twenty.
Kahani's psychological drama made its international debut at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival receiving the Czech event's Special Jury Prize and the Prize of Ecumenical Jury.
Acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Manijeh Hekmat served on the festival's Main Jury panel, headed by Dutch filmmaker Jos Stelling.
Hekmat was joined by Nana Jorjadze (Georgia), Alexander Shpilyuk (Ukraine) and Bojidar Manov (Bulgaria).
Narges Abyar's documentary One Day after the 10th Day also won the Grand Prize of the Georgian festival in the Young Film Maker's Section, which had Iran's Ramtin Lavvafipour on its board of jury along with Irakli Kvirikadze (Georgia), Galyna Cherniak (Ukraine) and Kamila Kuc (UK).
One Day after the Tenth Day has been screened at various film festivals including Golden Apricot (Armenia), I've Seen Films (Italy) and Flexiff (Australia).
The 5th Batumi International Film Festival was held from Sep. 21 to 28, 2009, screening feature-length, short films and documentaries from around the globe.
